America’s recession has caused the world’s economic downfall. People in countries around the globe are finding it harder to maintain jobs along with supporting their families. Many businesses are trying to improve their work availability to create jobs for the working class.
One very effective way for companies to pursue the creation of new jobs as well as lower costs is to higher independent contractors. An independent contractor is an employee that is a free-lancer, namely someone who works for himself yet performs services for a company and is paid by them.
This employee can save companies money because his salary is tax deductible. If a company were to hire multiple independent contractors, their salaries would all be tax deductible, which would all lead to major savings. The clear downside, however, to using independent contractors is that they are not bound to working for one company; they may work for whomever they choose.
This type of employment is often translated into modern day business process outsourcing. A company can invite a group of independent contractors to perform services for them. Take, for example, a company that hires Pitney Bowes for office services; Pitney Bowes will outsource directly from the company’s office.
A company like Dell decides to have offshore business process outsourcing, which cuts even more costs because the average wage for countries like India is much less than America.
People use offshore outsourcing for things like information technology because people in less developed countries get paid less while their knowledge power is equally sufficient. They are capable in helping Americans figure out problems with their computers thousands of miles away.
The downside to offshore outsourcing, of course, is that such jobs could have been provided to American outsourcers and would help get the economy back in motion. Until both American and offshore outsourcers are hired together, businesses will remain at a standstill. This is necessary because even these businesses who feel that they are saving are, in the long run, losing because people and companies will not be able to afford their services.
Outsourcing is an important help for the economic crisis, but companies must first make sure that native workers are hired as well in order to promote the continuation of the flow of the economy.
